2010 General Rules and Conditions

  • 1. All reining classes will be judged according to the 2010 WCRA Rule Book except where designated as NRHA classes, which will be judged according to the 2010 NRHA rulebook. For WCRA rules and regulations click here  or by contacting the show secretary.
  • 2. FVRC Show Committee will select patterns. The patterns will be posted at least one hour prior to the beginning of the class. Patterns are available at www.wcra.info or click here.
  • 3. Payouts are according to NRHA rules and payback schedule. Show will retain 45% of entry fees.
  • 4. Riders entering concurrent classes will pay only one judges fee.
  • 5. All Champions and Reserve Champions must report to the photographer for sponsor photos.
  • 6. Inhumane treatment of horses will be grounds for disqualification, as will abusive treatment of officials and fellow competitors.
  • 7. All protests and complaints must be made in writing to the show committee or the WCRA representative.
  • 8. Right to Cancel: FVRC reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule this event without notice at any time prior to the contest and without liability to FVRC or WCRA. Entry fees will be returned in the case of cancellation.
  • 9. Chilliwack Heritage Park does NOT ALLOW alcohol being consumed in or around Heritage Arena.




ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1. Open to all breeds of horses and caliber of riders.
  • 2. Class eligibility is based on the rider's and/or the horse's earnings as of January 1 of the current NRHA year.
  • 3. Riders and Horse owners must provide current HCBC membership numbers or proof of liability insurance.
  • 4. Copies of relevant membership cards and licenses MUST accompany entry forms for classes entered.
  • 5. Incomplete entry forms will be assessed a one time office fee of $20.00.
  • 6. All Riders and Owners entered in the show are eligible to enter in WCRA classes. For inclusion in High Point calculations, Riders & Owners must be WCRA and HCBC members.
  • 7. Show Fees are waived for Riders & Owners who are WCRA members. Non-members have the option of membership or paying a show fee.
  • 8. Payment of Fees: It is the Owner's responsibility to make the payments on or before the entry postmark due date. FVRC will not be responsible for entries or payments received late. Entries postmarked after due date will be subject to late entry fees. All fees are made payable to FVRC in Canadian Funds. An entry cheque returned due to insufficient funds will be subject to a $25.00 NSF fee and the late entry fee will apply if cashable funds are not received prior to the entry deadline.
  • 9. Draw will be made (date not yet determined) from all paid entries received by that date.
  • 10. Post entries in reining classes will be accepted up to 2 hours before the class, with payment of an additional $20 fee, and will be added to the top of the order of go. There will be no refunds, but substitutions of horses will be allowed with vet certificate or riders with doctor's note. A $20.00 substitution fee will apply.
  • 11. Owners may enter more than one horse. A horse may be entered only once per class. Riders may enter up to three horses per class.
  • 12. Warm Up arena will be available 24 hours per day from Thursday afternoon, except for grooming.
  • 13. Competition arena will be open for riding beginning on Thursday following the completion of the paid warm-ups and following each day's classes.
  • 14. Stalls will be available Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm and must be vacated no later than 12:00 midnight Sunday. NOTE: For competitors traveling a long distance you must contact the show manager if you require stabling early on Thursday or need to stay over Sunday night.
  • 15. All horses on the grounds, whether stalled or not, must be entered in a minimum of one class at the show.
  • 16. Entrants will be required to sign a declaration of eligibility.


*NOTE: Stalls must be booked with entries. Tack stalls are available on a first come first served basis. Additional stalls may not be available for post entries. Please check for availability with show committee. No Stall fee will be refunded UNLESS the show can re-assign the stalls.

CLASS CONDITIONS

  • 17. SLIDE OUT WEST 4,5,6 YR OLD OPEN - Open to four, five or six year old horses of all breeds. Horses are to be shown one handed as per NRHA rules. Full NRHA Pattern.
  • 18. SLIDE OUT WEST 4,5,6 YR OLD NON-PRO - Meet the Non Pro criteria as set out in the current NRHA Rule Book. Open to four, five or six year old horses of all breeds; horses are to be shown one handed as per NRHA rules. Full NRHA Pattern.
  • 19. SLIDE OUT WEST 3 YR OLD OPEN - Open to 3 year old horses of all breeds; horses are to be shown one handed or may show two handed in a legal bit or hackamore. Full NRHA Pattern.
  • 20. SLIDE OUT WEST 3 YR OLD NON-PRO - Meet the Non Pro criteria as set out in the current NRHA Rule Book. Open to 3 year old horses of all breeds; horses are to be shown one handed or may show two handed in a legal bit or hackamore. Full NRHA Pattern.
  • 21. BEGINNER FREESTYLE required maneuvers -a three-minute time limit starts at the beginning of the music or the beginning of the introduction (whichever is first) and ends with the music or when the rider indicates that the run is complete.
    Minimum - one large fast and one small slow circle in each direction
    Minimum - 3 consecutive spins in each direction
    Minimum - one rollback in each direction
    Minimum - one stop and back up.

EQUIPMENT

  • 1. Equipment must be used as stated in the WCRA Rule Book, unless otherwise specified. See WCRA rule book at www.wcra.info or click here.
  • 2. After each work, bits will be dropped and viewed by the judge or designate.
  • 3. In classes where running martingales are allowed, rein stoppers must be used.
